it's very important to us. * * you see our commitments with the restaurants. we have close to 60 restaurants out at the festival and 58 of them are local restaurants and of those 58, 50 are san francisco-based restaurants. we had 16 breweries out there this year and beer lands, four of those breweries, they're all northern california with the exception of one. but four were from san francisco proper. and then the wineries, we have 33 wineries out there and they're all from northern california. we're very supportive of the local businesses throughout san francisco, throughout the bay area, and we pay particular attention to the neighborhoods that surround the park because we do understand that those neighborhoods are being impacted most by this event. you know, gordos burritos, [speaker not understood], and they have an extraordinary big weekend in the brick and mortar store as well as on the festival grounds. we have some vendors here today who will speak to that as well as [speaker not understood] feingold who oversees the local restaurants and the restaurant

i believe that the greatest use of or great use of police department energy is around people who are dealing with mental health issues and mental health crisis and the crisis intervention team is really geared to responding to that great need we have here in san francisco. i am concerned personally about the use of electronic controlled weapons, tasers, especially how they could be used in a show of force, not just bringing about compliance but in a show of force on people who are mentally ill in san francisco and i think that for me it makes a lot of sense that we make our work around crisis intervention as strong as it can be. before considering, you know, use of lethal force in the department. i am not a decision maker through but this is part of a hearing from hearing from the supervisors and members of the public. we also have here, i am happy to have chief greg sure and who is here to present on this issue. he only has a limited amount of time here this morning and so i would like to call him up first to discuss his objective or his interest, the work of the department around e

she called us immediately, wanted to meet with us. and this was before this year's event. and i can tell you right now, she is single handedly changed our mind about the service that we're getting with the police department here. she has done a great job. every time i called the police were there within two minutes. i just can't say enough about the job she has done, and thank you chief. thank you commander for having such a great captain here at the richmond district and i hope you don't promote her out of here and keep her here for a while, if you can [ laughter ] >> at the intersection of 30th and fulton, we have major crashes as you know all the time. we just had a fatal crash not too long ago and it's not even in the captain's arena to do that, but she got led lights for that intersection. and it's just amazing the difference. people actually do see the red light now. so thank you very much. keep up the good work. >> thank you.
